Jun 05, 2023 On 27th of May, 2023, International Women's Day for Peace and Disarmament was celebrated by Maharaja Agrasen International College. The programme was organized by Department of Management and Department of Education. The day was celebrated to honour women and recognize their contribution in peacebuilding. Women, all over the world, have been fighting against military power and are trying to build an environment of harmony. This programme was organised to make people aware that Peace can persist only and only by peaceful means. Main objectives behind celebrating this day are: To revisit the past,understand the hazards that people have faced due to human atrocities and violence, to recognise every woman's sacrifice, to honour the historic and current efforts of women for peacebuilding, to strive for gender eqality in all fronts of life, and for holistic development of women across countries. Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Agrawal extended his support for successful organisation of the programme. Principal, Dr. M.S. Mishra gave a speech on women's unique role in society and Administrator, Mr. Siddharth Sabharwal threw light on the subject of women empowerment. All female faculty members attended the programme and participated in various fun activities. During the celebration, special guest Mr. Ananya Devariya recited his motivational poetry and left the whole auditorium in awe. A video on peace and disarmament and its connection to female power was also shown.
