The MAIC Rover and Ranger program is a voluntary, non-political educational movement for young people, inspired by the principles and methods established by Lord Baden-Powell in 1907.
The primary purpose of the movement is to facilitate the holistic development of young individuals, enabling them to realize their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual potentials. This development is crucial not only for their personal growth but also to cultivate responsible citizenship at local, national, and international levels. Responsible citizenship, as emphasized in Scouting/Guiding, encompasses individual integrity and commitment to societal welfare.
The movement adheres to three fundamental principles:
Duty to God: Upholding spiritual principles, loyalty to one's religious beliefs, and embracing the responsibilities arising from them.
Duty to others: Demonstrating loyalty to one's country and fostering harmony, peace, understanding, and cooperation within local, national, and international communities.
Duty to self: Taking personal responsibility for one's own development and growth, recognizing and nurturing individual capacities and potentials.
These principles serve as guiding laws and beliefs that shape the conduct and character of all members of the movement, promoting a sense of duty, integrity, and active participation in building a better society.
