5 day long Faculty Development Program on Recent Trends in Teaching and Learning Pedagogy organized

Maharaja Agrasen International College and IQAC organized a 5 days Faculty Development Program on “Recent Trends in Teaching and Learning Pedagogy” from 10th Oct – 14th October 2023. The aim of the Faculty Development Program was to provide academicians a contemporary tool for delivering effective and engaging Lectures. They were introduced to proven active learning techniques that can be applied easily in a higher education context, helping students to develop their knowledge and enthusiasm for learning. They will practice using these techniques in their lessons plans. Faculty members also explored some key topics in depth, learning about the misconceptions students may hold and how they can be tackled in the classroom. Finally, teachers got the opportunity to try some practical experiments which can be adapted to be used in any settings. The speakers for the 5 day long program were eminent personalities from multiple disciplines where the sessions on all the days began by saraswati pooja and floral welcome of the keynote speakers. On the first day Dr. Naureen Shaba Khan, Assistant Professor Department of Life Sciences, Dr. C.V Raman University, Bilaspur who exchanged her views on The Art and Science of Teaching: A Deep Dive into Pedagogical Strategies, for the second day the energetic speaker Shri Shekhar Jain Corporate Trainer, Motivational Speaker Certified LOA Master Practitioner, Raipur who engaged the faculties on the topic of Motivation and Happiness where he also involved everyone in group activity concerning student centric approach and initiated brainstorming discussions as well as talked about the importance of 3A’s in everyone’s life that stands for Accept, Adjust and Appreciate. The third day speaker Dr Padma Bhore HOD Education Pt. Harishankar Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Kachna, Raipur. And Dean, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur who talked on the topic of Innovative Teaching- Learning pedagogy. Dr. J.P Patra Associate Professor Computer Science Department , Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda University, Bhilai speaker for the session on fourth day enlightened the participants with Practical Aspects of ICT tools in Teacher-Learning and Assessment where he also made faculties aware of various assessment softwares like mentimeter, socratives and gave live examples of those. He also discussed about Holo-transformation, Mixed Reality, Virtual Labs and Learning management system. The speaker for the closing session of FDP was Dr Gopal Krishna Rathore Associate Professor School Of Management, O.P. Jindal University, Raigarh (C.G.) who took the session on the topic Human values and Professional Ethics who talked about various values like Human aspiration, Honesty & Integrity, Humility through real life examples and experiences. The program has been designed to create harmony between learning and applying innovative teaching knowledge towards the development of the society with a mission to foster a new generation of teachers who are inspired to improve the world. The whole session was intriguing and helped the faculties to learn about new technologies and techniques. The FDP was successfully organized under the guidance of Chief Patron Chairman of the college Shri Rajesh Agarwal and Ex-Chairman Shri Ramesh Agarwal, Cheif Convener Dr. M.S. Mishra. Program Convener was Dr. Ila Dixit, HOD Department of Management and Coordinators were Mr. Hassan Raza, Ms Anjali Swarnkar and Mr Mahesh Kumar Soni.
